Tuvalu MNH CS 1-15, CV 24.65 - TV 36.25
41444 - A beautiful MNH set of the first issue of Tuvalu. Complete set of 15. Catalogue value doesn't begin to describe how desirable this set has been over the years. Still not frequently seen. A key set for the collector of British Colonies.
Switzerland used 1O6, CV $450.00 - TV 283.50
40728 - A tremendous used copy of the 1918 issue for the War Board of Trade. Great provenance - obtained from a dealer friend of mine who I have known for many years. Great socked-on-the-nose cancel. Extremely fine centering and clear overprint. A super copy that I could not hope to reproduce any time in the future.
Switzerland used C8a, CV $47.50 - TV 59.85
40277 - A tremendous used copy of the 1933-1937 45c Air Mail issue with grilled gum. A very difficult stamp to find at any price. Superb cancel that just cuts the corner. Superb centering. A great copy that would be very difficult to equal.
Canada used 28, CV $90.00 - TV 69.30
40744 - A nice used copy of the 12 1/2 cent value of the 1868-1876 definitive set - the first of the new Dominion of Canada. A key stamp for anyone's collection. Some of the perforations are a bit short, but they are all there. Great centering with four clear margins. Very light cancel that does nothing to detract from the beauty of the stamp. Very fresh looking. A superior copy that whould look great in your collection.
Barbados used 4, CV $275.00 - TV 134.75
41171 - A beautiful used copy of the 4p value of the 1852-55 first issue of Barbados. A key stamp for anyone's collection. Good top margin, slim but clear right margin, half a left margin and most of a bottom margin. Super #1 cancel that only adds to the appeal of the stamp. Great colour, both the stamp and the bluish paper. A great copy that whould look great in your collection.
St. Vincent used 10 - CV $175.00 - TV 134.75
40149 - An extremely nice copy of the 1863-9 1 shilling brown. Indistinct numeral cancel, but very good strike (see scan) that doesn't detract from the stamp. Good top margin, but no discernable margin on the other three sides, which appears to be typical of issues of St. Vincent in this period. Extremely nice colour and distinct design. A superior copy that would make a great addition to your collection.
Trinidad used 47 - CV $300.00 - TV 94.50
39917 - An absolutely superb copy of the 1 shilling bright violet of 1863. Distinct socked-on-the-nose cancel (October 9, 1869). Good margins on three sides, but bottom perforations just touch the bottom of the design. Good colour that appears a touch faded, but the design is still distinct. When I first mounted this stamp, the catalogue value was only $225, so it has shot up. My price is still the same. A superior copy that would make a great addition to your collection.
Barbados used 1 - CV $300.00 - TV 168.00
39772 - Just reduced in price. A teriffic copy of the first stamp of Barbados, the 1/2 p deep green. Nice numeral cancel (this stamp catalogues used triple what it does mint), if a little indistinct. Good margins on left and bottom, but top margin is very slim (just misses the top of the right corner), and the right margin appears to be halfway into the stamp. Very fresh colour and very distinct design. Back shows very minor concerns - a glassine hinge remnant (very slim, fairly modern) and a light pencil notation. Blue paper is very distinct from the back, but looks a touch faded around the margins. A very nice copy that would be perfect for collectors of the British Empire or just #1s of the world.
St. Vincent used 17, CV $135.00 - TV 85.05
39261 - Just reduced in price. A copy of the 1 shilling deep rose of the 1871-78 issue. No margins to speak of. Very nice distinct "A70" numeral cancel, socked-on-the-nose. Colour appears a little faded, and some of the detail of the portrait is weak. The back has a very small, but loose, glassine hinge remnant. Still, a very nice copy that will look great in your collection.
Switzerland used 42, CV $110.00 - TV 38.50
39855 - Here is a bargain, even moreso as I have just reduced the price.. A superb copy of the 3 cent black issue on white wove paper of the 1862-64 definitive issue. Centering is a touch low, but there are four margins, with the bottom margin just clearing the perfs. Very light cancel. Colour is very fresh looking and the detail of the design is superb. Small old hinge remnant on the back, and also what appears to be a very small paper adhesion. A superior copy that shouldn't be resisted at this price.
Switzerland used 58, CV $125.00 - TV 43.75
39894 - Yet another Swiss bargain, and another just reduced in price! A nice copy of the 40 cent grey on white wove paper from the 1862-64 definitive issue. Centering is a bit low and left, but two of the margins are large and the other two just barely clear the design. Beautiful, clear cancel showing a date in May 1880. Colour is a bit faded, and the detail of the design is somewhat hidden by the cancel. However, all in all, a great copy of a difficult stamp to find used.
Switzerland used 111, CV $110.00 - TV 61.60
36748 - A very nice copy of the 3fr yellow brown on white paper, watermark #183, perf 11.5 x 11, issued in 1905. Centering is too high and left, with the perfs touching the design on both of those sides. Excellent socked-on-the-nose cancel (1908). Nice colour and detail of design. Back has pencil notation "121A" but that can't be the Scott number because that number doesn't exist and 121 is 30 cent stamp. A nice copy of a key value.
Netherland used 3, CV $110.00 - TV 69.30
38930 - Just reduced in price. A very nice example of the 15 cent orange of 1852. Four tight margins. Tiny fault at upper right corner. Beautiful socked-on-the-nose cancel. Very nice colour. Detail of the design is a bit weak, but no worn spots. Very small pencil notation on back showing the catalogue value. A superior copy of a classic stamp.
Samoa mint 7a, CV $190.00 - TV 119.70
39308 - Just reduced in price. From the first issue of Samoa, one of the better varieties of the 2 shilling value. This issue is now no longer listed in the standard Scott's catalog, only the Classic specialized. Fairly well centered copy. However, it is clearly a scissor cuto coy, and is missing perforations along the top. However, the colour is good, the detail is great, and the overall appearance is very good. A couple of hinge remnants, one modern glassine and an old gummed paper. However, over 60% of the gum is intact, although it has crackled with age. Catalogue value is from when I mounted this, so it's probably the 2002 or 2003 Scott's. Not a perfect stamp, but should look good in your collection.
United States MNH 1908 PNC of 5, Pl#7, CV $75.00 - TV 50.40
36348 - Just reduced in price. A suberb, MNH copy of the 20 cent Fire Pumper plate number coil #7, strip of 3. One of the toughest PNC numbers for this stamp. Great centering. Good colour with some natural smearing from the ink of the join to the right hand stamp. Some discolouration of the top part of the gum on the back, but undisturbed. Catalogue value is from my 2002 Scott's U.S. Specialized, which is my most recent copy. A great example of a key item for your PNC collection.
Canada used 26, CV $175.00 - TV 85.75
40745 - A nice example of the 5 cent olive green of the first Dominion issue. Centering is down and low - three good margins and the perforations just clear the design on the bottom. Light killer cancel covering the whole stamp, but doesn't detract from the design. Colour is a touch faded, but the design is still clear. Tiny pressure crease that appears like embossing. Not perfect, but a solid example of a key stamp.
Canada used 18a, CV $90.00 - TV 56.70
40746 - An excellent example of the classic 12 1/2 cent value, blue green, of 1859. Centering is low with three good margins and the bottom margin touching the design. Light cancel that covers the upper right half of the stamp, but is light and doesn't detract from the design. Very fresh colour and excellent detail of design. Large glassine hinge remnant (circa 1950s I would guess) and a small paper adhesion. Still a well above average example of this important stamp.
Switzerland used 10, CV $125.00 - TV 78.75
40487 - A great example of the 5 rappen value of 1851. Unfortunately, like many stamps of the era, it appeas to have been separated with a straight edge ruler, leaving very rough margins. However, three of those margins are very large, and the fourth, although it cuts into the design on the bottom, still shows a bit of margin. Indifferent manuscript cancel, which at least doesn't detract from the stamp. Colour is very striking, and detail of design is superb. An excellent example of a classic stamp, and a great starter for a collection of these issues as it is the least expensive of the group.
Switzerland used C15, CV $77.50 - TV 36.40
38080 - Just reduced in price. A faulty but collectible copy of the 1929-30 Air Mail issue. Very tough to find postally used. On the positive side, it is very wll centered and has an atractive circular cancel. It looks good from the front, but the back is another story. There is a small but noticeable crease in the top right hand corner. There is a fair size glassine hinge remnant. Finally, it has what may be a repaired tear - about 4mm long, with less than 1 mm separated, at the top left. Also has some paper adhesions. While it is not the nicest example I'm selling, it is certainly presentable.
United States used 68, CV $50.00 - TV 42.00
34926 - A nice copy of the 10 cent issue of 1861-1862. Fine centering, if a bit low and left, but with four clear margins it's superior for the period. A heavy cancel, but only covers about one-third of the stamp. A dark line is on the back, running from left to right in the center of the stamp. A very nice copy of a good stamp that should really enhance your collection and take it to the next step.
New South Wales unused J8a Specimen - TV 78.75
32820 - Here is one for the specialist! A specimen copy of the 5 shilling value of the 1891-1892 postage due issue. This one is the scarcer perf 11. Clear overprint. Centering is poor, clearly too low and right with the bottom perforations cutting into the design. No gum left, and a hing remnant (older glassine). Creasing at the top right hand corner. Colour is a bit faded, and there appears to be toining in spots. However, the stamp catalouges $225.00 mint without it being a specimen. Still an excellent and desirable item for any specialized serious collector of Australia. Price reduced for clearance.
United States used 113, CV $75.00 - TV 67.50
42232 - A nice copy of the 2 cent value from the 1869 Pictorial issue. Centering is poor, low with perforations touching the bottom of the design. Attractive, but heavy, cork cancel. Very small paper adhesion on the back. Colour and detail are good. A great example for your collection.
United States used 292, CV $600.00 - TV 540.00
42326 - The $1.00 value from the Trans-Mississippi Exposition Issue of 1898. Has some minor faults, such as creases and small tears. Centering is high and right, with the perforations just touching the design on those sides. Light oval cancels. Small, old, paper hinge remnant. Colour and detail are excellent. Certainly not a perfect example, but very nice appearance.
Canada used 95, CV $87.50 - TV 67.38
41506 - The 50 cent value of the Edward VII definitive set. Centering is excellent - no obvious bias to any side and four clear margins. Light Registered Mail cancel. Small glassine hinge remnant. Decent colour and detail. A well above average example of a classic stamp.
Mauritius used 5bc, CV $400.00 - TV 280.00
42489 - A sound copy of the 1p orange red worn impression on bluish paper. Centering is high and right, but the stamp does have good margins on the left and bottom. Indistinct cancel. The back has a small hinge remnant (glassine) and a rubber stamp mark "K". Typical of stamps of this typke the detail is very poor. Colour is not too bad. A nice example of a tough stamp for your collection. As a bonus, I will send details of my trading and approval services.
Mauritius used 14Bd - CV $425.00 - TV 340.00
42438 - A sound copy of the 1859 2p blue on bluish paper, worn impression. Good margins on the left and top, but there does appear to be minor intrusions on the bottom and right. Clear but unremarkable cancel. The back has a hinge remnant (glassine) and some pencil notations. Detail and colour are very nice. A nice example of a tough stamp to get for your collection.
United States *E7 - CV $60.00 - TV 60.00
43057 - A slightly faulty copy of the 1908 Special Delivery issue. Centering is very good, only a bit to the left with four large margins. There is a slight blue discolouration (see the scan). Overall appearance is a bit faded, although the colour is still good - the paper is clearly toned. The back has obvious gum disturbance, including some missing gum, but still possesses over 90% of its original gum. No hinge marks or hinge remnants, but this is clearly not a copy that could be called "never hinged". Not the best copy in the world, but it should fill a hole in your collection.
South Africa MNH B5-8 CV $50.25 - TV 50.25
42439 - A complete, fresh set of the 1938 Voortrekker centenary issue. A great example of a key set of this country.
United States used RB6 - CV $110.00 - TV 55.00
43096 -A presentable copy of the 6 cent green & black issue of 1871-1874. Centering is high and right, with perforations cutting into the design at the top. Back has extensive blue staining. Colour is darkened by age. Still, a good example of a tough stamp to find.
United States mint UC9 Entire - CV $100.00 - TV 70.00
43110 - An entire envelope of the 1945 6c on 2c overprint. Some minor creasing, but no-where near as bad as the scan makes it look. Paper has darkened with age, but otherwise very fresh. Catalogue value is from my 2002 U.S. Specialized, which is the most recent one I have. A great opportunity to get this key item.
United States 847 Line Pair FDC - TV 37.80
43111 - Here is a possibly unique item, and at the least it is very scarce. A first day of issue cover, uncacheted and addressed, from Washington, DC to Palmerton, PA of the 10 cent horizontal coil issue. However, if you look very closely, you will see that this is a line pair, not a normal pair. The cover is a little darkened with age, but otherwise very fresh. Take this opportunity to add this item to your collection at a reasonable price because I certainly won't get another like it any time soon.
Nauru used 15 - CV $350.00 - TV 350.00
43419 - A very nice copy of the overprinted 10 shilling value of Great Britain - red overprint on blue stamp. Centering is a bit low, but there are four clear margins. Very nice colour. Light cancel at both corners. The back had a paper adhesion, but I soaked it off, so the only trouble on the back is a bit of light rolling from the soaking - not aparent from the front. An excellent copy of a key stamp from this country.
Canada used 47 - CV $75.00 - TV 52.50
43420 - A very nice copy of the 50 cent high value of the 1888-1893 issue. Centering is high and left with perforations just clearing the design (by less than 1mm) on the left side. Very nice colour, and the paper is fairly white, although a touch toned. The cancel covers most of the stamp, but is not too heavy. A couple of small glassine hinge remnants on the back, along with a pencil notation (42) and what appears to be a German expertising rubber stamp. A very nice copy of one of the key stamps of the era.
United States MNH 369 - CV $400.00 - TV 292.60
40248 - A fresh copy of the 1909 Lincoln Centenary issue on Bluish Paper - the rare variety. Centering is very fine, just a little left and low with the margins just touching the perforations on the left. Very nice colour, both the paper and the stamp. Gum is in excellent shape with no disturbances visible on casual inspection. An excellent copy of a key stamp.
Switzerland used 42 - CV $125.00 - TV 66.00
43621 - A sound copy of the 3 cent black 1862-1864 Helvetia issue on white wove paper. Centering is way to the left with the perforations cutting into the design. Colour is very nice, but appears a little bluish under strong light. Attractive but indistinct circular date cancel. Paper hinge adhesion on the back covering about 20%. Alto what appears to be a purple rubber stamp expertization mark (I would describe it as two crossed hammers) and a pencil signature. I priced this based on its 2004 catalogue value of $110.00 - it has gone up since in the 2005 edition. A really good price for a decent copy of this stamp.
Virgin Islands used 11 - CV $120.00 - TV 108.00
43461 - A nice copy of the 1880 2 1/2 p issue. Centering is to the left with the design touching the perforations on that side, and overall, the margins are tight. Colour is fair, but the paper appears to be a bit faded. Indistinct but small cancel. No adhesions on back, although there are a couple of markings that appear to be for expertization (one looks like XX, the other M.O.). A really good price for a decent copy of this stamp.
Trinidad used 16 - CV $500.00 - TV 400.00
43625 - A sound copy of the imperforate 1859 issue on white paper. Centering is mixed. The margin at the top left and the right top appear to cut into the design, but the bottom margin is very good. Colour and detail are very nice. Light, indistinct cancel. Clean back. A good price for a nice copy of this stamp.
Australia Mint 51 - CV $60.00 - TV 60.00
44787 - A nice copy of the 1 shilling value of the 1915-1924 Kangaroo issue (Watermark #10 Narrow Crown and Narrow "A"). Centering is to the left, but four good margins. Colour is excellent, although there is minor toning. Lightly hinged with glassine remnant, but the gum is otherwise undisturbed. Rounded corner at bottom right, but appears to be natural from the perforation process. A nice example of a scarce item.
United States used 155 - CV $350.00 - TV 350.00
A sound copy of the 90 cent value without grill on white wove paper of 1870-1871. Centering is low with the design clearing the perforations just barely. Colour is a bit faded. Indistinct but light cancel. Back has a small black smudge (probably soak through from the cancel) but no other marks or adhesion. A nice example of a scarce item.
Bahamas Used 41 - CV $65.00 - TV 58.50
46094 - A nice example of the 1 shilling Grey and Carmine from the 1902 Edward VII definitive set, watermark 2 (single Crown & CA). Has a slight natural paper crease (most likely from uneven exposure to moisture at some point) about one-third up the stamp and straight across (noticable in the illustration, but not so much on the stamp - I didn't even notice the crease until I looked at the scan). Centering is a bit to the right, with all four margins are very tight. Beautiful readable circular cancel (Sept 7, Bahamas). The back is very clean with no adhesions or hinge remnants. Very nice colour. A great example of a classic stamp, and one that I can't replace any time soon. Don't pass this one up.
Hong Kong MNH,CS,253-4 - CV $75.00 - TV 82.50
46169 - An imperfect mint set of a very much in demand issue. Not hinged, but obvious gum foxing around the edges. Otherwise sound. A must for a collector of Lunar New Year issues, Hong Kong, Dogs, or Animals.
Paraguay MNH 1268 Specimen - TV 58.50
Something unusual for a change. These items of Paraguay have been in great demand recently, and this is a very good example. A nice MNH example of the 1970 souvenir sheet for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, Germany. Has a "Muestra" (Specimen in Spanish) overprint. The mint souvenir sheet is priced at $60.00 in the current Scott's catalogue. Gum is intact and undamaged, but has some minor natural creases so I wouldn't call it "pristine", but it's close. A nice item that will be a must have for a serious collector of Olympics topicals.
Canada used 95 - CV $125.00 - TV 100.00
46430 - A nice used example of the fifty cent King Edward VII. Excellent centering, just a bit to the right, but four clear margins. In addition, there is a piece of the original selvedge on the right. Registered mail cancel typical of the period, but not too heavy. Good colour. Back has some remains of gum from soaking, but no adhesions. A really nice example of a key issue of Canada.
Bulgaria MNH 1782 Overprint - TV 120.00
47184-47187 - Four available. This one is described in Scott's as an overprint on Scott #1782 (the souvenir sheet for the Sofia through the ages issue of 1969). The note below #1782 in Scott's gives a value of $150.00. In Michel, it is #2240 and my 1996 Eastern Europe catalouge shows a catalogue value of 330 Deutche Marks. All copies are MNH, although they may have minor curling and such. Choose any one you wish - they are identified from top to bottom. An unusual item that no collector of the country should be without.
Bulgaria MNH Non-Postal Overprint - TV 183.75
Two available. Never valid for postage, and definitely not listed in Scotts. However, a scarce philatelic item. The design is from Michel #2344 (design cfw). and was printed in black as well although it didn't have postal validity. 2000 of those sheets were overprinted in red in 1977 (see the note in the Michel catalogue below #2344). All copies are MNH and any problems are extremely minor (like little gum imperfections and bumps). Choose either one you wish - they are identified from top to bottom. An unusual item that no collector of the country should be without.
Switzerland used 50 - CV $100.00 - TV 80.00
47244 - A copy of the 1fr gold from the 1862-1864 Helvetia issue, perf 11.5 on white wove paper with cross in oval watermark. Centering is poor with the perforations cutting into the design on the right and touching the design on the top. Nice circular cancel, but not very readable. A little darkened with age, and some fading to the design. Small (1mm) dark spot on the back but otherwise clean with no adhesions. A decent copy of a scarce stamp.
Canada Mint 130b - CV $80.00 - TV 80.00
48907 - A mint copy of the 3 cent carmine Admiral perf 8 vertical coil issued from 1912-1924, die type II (the "R" in "THREE" is close to the oval). No short perforations, although they are rough, which is typical of stamps with wide perforation. Centering is low and left, but four clear margins. No hinge mark, but the back shows some gum loss near the perforations at center left. Otherwise the gum is clean, shiny and undisturbed. Very nice colour with no paper toning. A very presentable copy of a key stamp.
Canada MNH 133 - CV $130.00 - TV 130.00
48911 - A very nice copy of the 2 cent yellow green Admiral of 1915-1924 coil, perforated 12 horizontally. Centering is low and left, but four clear margins. Light pencil notation (133) on the back, but otherwise the gum is untouched. Very nice colour with no paper toning. An excellent copy of a key stamp.
Canada MNH 151 - CV $55.00 - TV 55.00
48924 - A teriffic copy of the 3 cent value from the 1928-1929 defintive set. Centering is a touch high and right, but generally very well centered. Clean back with undisturbed gum. Good colour although the paper is a bit dark. An excellent copy of a lovely stamp.
Canada MNH 116 - CV 575.00 - TV 575.00
48881 - A beautiful copy of the 10 cent plum Admiral (1911-1925). Centering is low, but the stamp has four margins, although they are all on the tight side. Clean back with undisturbed gum. Excellent colour and bright paper. A superior copy of the key mint value of this set.
Canada MNH 117 - CV $105.00 - TV 105.00
48883 - A beautiful copy of the 10 cent blue Admiral (1911-1925). Centering is excellent - just a touch low with large margins on all four sides. Pristine gum. Very nice colour and fresh appearance, although a touch toned with age. A really beautiful stamp which should be a prize in your collection.
Canada MNH 118 - CV $100.00 - TV 100.00
48884 - A beautiful copy of the 10 cent bister brown Admiral (1911-1925). Centering is very good, just a little to the right with four large margins. Pristine gum. Very nice colour although a touch toned with age. A really beautiful stamp which should be a prize in your collection.
Canada MNH 119 - CV $240.00 - TV 240.00
48889 - Another nice copy of the 20 cent olive green Admiral (1911-1925). Centering is low with little or no margin at the bottom. Gum is in excellent condition with no marks or imperfections. Nice colour although a little. toned with age. A really nice stamp which would be a great addition to your collection.
Canada MNH 119 - CV $240.00 - TV 240.00
48887 - A very nice copy of the 20 cent olive green Admiral (1911-1925). Centering is low, but four clear margins. Gum is fine with no hinge marks or disturbances, but there is a bit of a crease. Nice colour although a touch toned with age. A really nice stamp which would be a great addition to your collection.
Canada MNH 119 - CV $240.00 - TV 240.00
48888 - Another nice copy of the 20 cent olive green Admiral (1911-1925). Centering is really good with no real bias towards any side and four good margins. Gum is very nice with only a touch of a disturbance near one of the perforations. Nice colour although a little. toned with age. A really nice stamp which would be a great addition to your collection.
Canada MNH 120 - CV $200.00 - TV 200.00
48890 - A nice copy of the 50 cent brown black Admiral (1911-1925). Centering is to the right, but four clear margins. Gum has some minor imperfections, but no marks or disturbances. Colour is a little toned with age. A really nice stamp which would be a great addition to your collection.
Canada mint 120 - CV $75.00 - TV 75.00

48774 - A mint copy of the 6 cent yellow brown of 1870-1889. Centering is very high, but good margins on the other three sides. A couple of large hinge marks, and a large but thin hinge remnant covering about a third of the back. Someone has penciled in an "8" on the back as well. About 40% of the gum is original and undisturbed. Luckily, the hinging isn't too egregious and hasn't disturbed the rest of the gum that much. There is also a bit of gum bleeding covering one corner. Colour and detail are excellent, although the paper is toned. Overall, probably an above average copy of this issue, and the price is based on a huge discount from the old catalogue value. A great opportunity to add this issue.
